Mayank Anand Gururani, PhD

I obtained a B.Sc. degree in Biology from University of Lucknow, India, M.Sc. in Genetics & Plant Breeding from Allahabad Agricultural Institute, India, an M.Tech. in Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology, India and a PhD in Molecular Biotechnology from Konkuk University, Seoul, South Korea. Before joining the PhD program, I worked as a Scientific Officer (Research Associate) at the United Nations-governed International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Hyderabad, India. After graduating from Konkuk University, I worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Jeju National University, South Korea for 2 years on phytochrome engineering for the production of photosynthetically efficient turf grass with improved agronomic traits. Prior to joining the Biology Department at UAE University, I worked as an Assistant Professor at Yeungnam University, South Korea where I taught Plant Molecular Biology and Advanced Metabolic Engineering and conducted independent research.
